North Yorkshire Council is recruiting a Strategy and Performance Manager to join the Children and Young People’s Service team. This part-time, permanent role sits within the Strategy and Performance Team and offers the opportunity to contribute to the council’s work supporting children and families across the county. The successful candidate will work as part of a small, collaborative team focused on improving service outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Accurately collect, analyse, and report performance data to senior leadership, management and key stakeholders; Contribute towards continuous improvements in service delivery; Provide expert strategic advice to senior leaders on children’s services, supporting decision-making with robust evidence and clear performance insights; Collaborate with senior leaders and Heads of Service to ensure that services for children and young people are effective, efficient, and meet statutory obligations and best practice standards; Monitor and evaluate service performance, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement, and recommending and contributing to projects that address service gaps or areas of underperformance; Champion the voice and needs of children, young people, and families, ensuring they are central to strategic planning and service delivery; Support inspection-readiness preparations and exercises; Represent North Yorkshire Council at regional and national forums to promote best practice and share learning in children’s services; Attendance at performance boards, management boards and committees as required. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate: Significant experience of strategic planning and / or performance and change management, ideally within Children’s and Young People’s Services; Strong understanding of children’s services, statutory requirements, and national standards that affect service delivery and outcomes; Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations; Excellent communication both oral and written, planning, organisational, presentational, and influencing skills.
