Employment Support Lead - International Care Workers

Make a real difference to the social care workforce in South West London

The South London Partnership (SLP) is seeking a compassionate, skilled and motivated Employment Support Lead to provide direct support to displaced international social care workers across South West London.

This role is centred on one‑to‑one support, employability guidance, and pastoral care, helping workers whose sponsorship has been revoked to secure new, ethical employment and stabilise their lives. You will play a vital role in promoting fairness, dignity and opportunity for people facing significant uncertainty.

About the Role

Due to the significant increase in international care workers displaced following sponsor licence revocations, we are expanding our support capacity. This role focuses primarily on direct worker support rather than strategic or programme‑management responsibilities.

You will work closely with the existing International Recruitment Lead and the SWL Workforce Development Lead to provide high‑quality, person‑centred assistance across a large and complex caseload.

Key responsibilities include:

Direct support for displaced international care workers

Supporting individuals to navigate the process of securing new sponsorship and compliant employment
Offering holistic pastoral support, signposting to services such as housing, legal advice, wellbeing/mental health, community support and immigration specialists
Ensuring workers understand their rights, responsibilities and available optionsPartnership and employer liaison

Working with social care employers to understand vacancies and match suitable candidates
Promoting ethical recruitment and good employment practices across providers
Liaising with local authorities, VCSE partners, workforce teams and London‑wide networks to support effective coordinationCaseload management and insight

Managing a high‑volume caseload with professionalism, empathy and strong organisation
Maintaining accurate records, monitoring trends and sharing insights with the team to improve support offers
Contributing to ongoing learning and continuous improvement of the London‑wide displaced worker response

This is a hands‑on support role, perfect for someone who thrives when working directly with individuals and helping them progress towards stability, employment and wellbeing.

About You

You will be someone who cares deeply about people, understands the challenges international workers face, and can work sensitively and effectively with those in vulnerable or uncertain circumstances.

You will bring:

Experience providing direct support to individuals (e.g. employment support, casework, welfare support, advocacy, coaching or community work)
Ability to manage a large and complex caseload with compassion and clarity
Strong understanding of ethical employment, safeguarding and worker rights
Confidence supporting people with varying English levels, cultural backgrounds and personal circumstances
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly
Ability to work collaboratively with employers, councils and voluntary sector partners
A commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and empowering individuals
Knowledge of the health and social care sector, recruitment challenges or sponsorship processes (desirable but not essential)

This role is ideal for someone who excels in frontline support and employability guidance
