Great opportunity to work as a Senior General Operative at our client's leading fruit and vegetable production site. Staffline is recruiting Senior General Operatives to work in Peterborough.
Pay Rates
* Training Period:
o Day Shift: £12.71 per hour – Overtime (£15.89 per hour)
o Night Shift: £13.00 per hour – Overtime (£16.25 per hour)
* Post-Training:
o Day Shift: £13.01 per hour – Overtime (£16.26 per hour)
o Night Shift: £13.30 per hour – Overtime (£16.63 per hour)
Shift Patterns
* Day shift: 5:30am – 6:00pm, 4on-4off
* Night shift: 5:30pm – 6:00am, Sunday to Wednesday or Tuesday to Friday
Operational Duties
* Regularly working on the production line
* Signing workers in and out
* Assisting with assigning workers to lines and ensuring timely start of shifts
* Conducting headcounts and maintaining accurate records
Compliance & Standards
* Monitoring GMP procedures, including hygiene protocols (e.g., handwashing)
* Ensuring proper use of PPE across all workers
* Overseeing locker and canteen area compliance with PPE policies
* Supervising the smoking area to ensure health and safety rules are followed
Team Support
* Supporting Line Leaders with day-to-day tasks
* Helping new starters integrate into the team
* Promoting a safe, clean, and efficient work environment
Qualifications
* Confident communicator who leads by example
* Willing to work hands‑on alongside the team on the production line
* Comfortable handling a variety of tasks, from supervising workers to ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols
* Adaptable and able to respond quickly to changing needs throughout the shift
* Previous experience in a factory or warehouse environment is beneficial but not essential; full training will be provided
