Job summary
The successful applicant will work alongside three other (3.5 WTE) substantive consultants within the OPMH service, dividing work across community localities and inpatient OPMH services. The role involves traditional community team duties, including outpatient clinics with a multidisciplinary team comprising community psychiatric nurses, psychologists, support workers, occupational therapists, and social workers. We welcome discussions on areas of special interest compatible with this role. Currently, the service operates in a hybrid model (remote/virtual and face-to-face consultations), with a preference for face-to-face for frail elderly patients.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will provide strong clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team and clinical practitioners across the specialist teams. Flexibility and engagement in service development are essential, especially during national changes. The role includes teaching medical students and trainee doctors, and cooperating with future service reconfiguration.
