School Crossing Patrol Officer (Pontardawe)
Salary: £12.26 Per Hour
Contract Type: Temporary up to 31st March 2026 (Funded by Pontardawe Town Council)
Hours: 10 hours per week, 2 hours per day (Term Time Only)
Location of post: Swansea Road, Trebannos
The post involves gathering and safely crossing pedestrians at or near the school.
This position is subject to an Enhanced Check from the Disclosure & Barring Service (Child). Neath Port Talbot Council is committed to safeguarding children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Main duties of the role:
1. Gathering school pedestrians for crossing.
2. Controlling and directing pedestrians.
3. Stopping traffic when necessary.
4. Supervising pedestrians during crossing.
5. Reporting matters related to duties.
Experience required:
* Previous experience with road safety issues.
* Experience working with children and adults in a public setting.
Desired abilities:
* Effective communication skills.
* Ability to work independently.
* Ability to adhere to strict timings and guidelines.
