Vehicle Paint Technician
£40,800 per annum plus 15% shift allowance
Shift 6.00am - 2.00pm or 2.00pm - 10.00pm

Role Overview:
As a Vehicle Paint Technician within their OE Operations & Logistics team, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and conformity of commercial parts through expert painting and refinishing. From surface preparation to final inspection, you'll uphold industry standards with precision and dedication. They are seeking individuals with a proactive mind-set, a commitment to quality, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Key Activities:
* Prepare product surfaces meticulously for painting, collaborating closely with the preparation department.
* Apply paint with precision, utilising HVLP equipment and applying "wet on wet" techniques for optimal results.
* Mix and match paint according to specifications, ensuring seamless colour matching.
* Maintain and operate low-bake ovens to ensure proper curing and finish.
* Assess product quality and identify and resolve any defects promptly, including polishing as needed.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, always adhering to health and safety protocols.
* Monitor stock levels and ensure the smooth movement of parts within the section.
* Proactively identify and address potential challenges, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
* Complete necessary documentation in alignment with production instructions.
Essential Key Skills & Experience:
* City & Guilds Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in automotive refinishing.
* Proficiency in paint application techniques, including surface preparation and spray gun operation.
* Ability to accurately mix and match paint colours.
* Experience working with various tools and equipment in a production environment.
* Strong time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
* Knowledge of safety practices and proper PPE usage.
* Familiarity with oven use and drying techniques.
* Ability to interpret technical instructions accurately.
* Understanding of quality control processes and a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Positive attitude, with the ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
Desirable Key Skills & Experience:
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Exceptional attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
* Experience working with a variety of materials.
This role is Commutable from Dagenham, Romford, Ilford, Stratford and Brentwood Must be able to commute to Dagenham, relocation is considered for permanent role.
