At awesome., you’ll work on projects that matter — building websites, apps, and tools for clients ranging from global brands to public sector partners.
Responsibilities
* Build modern web apps using Laravel and React
* Read and map complex systems, including data handling and business processes
* Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
* Take ownership of your work, ask for help when needed, and collaborate effectively with your team
* Design and develop secure, robust APIs (awareness of Laravel Passport / OAuth2 concepts)
* Turn Figma designs into polished, performant, animated front‑end experiences
* Write clean, maintainable CSS using Sass and BEM (or similar scalable approaches)
* Implement accessibility standards appropriately
* Deploy and manage servers with Laravel Forge and Envoyer; comfortable with Ubuntu command line and SSH
* Use Git proficiently – branching, pull requests, and code reviews
* Work with MySQL and Redis in real production environments
* Collaborate with designers, strategists, and content teams without ego
* Lead and mentor junior team members (bonus)
Qualifications
* Strong experience building modern web apps with Laravel and React
* Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, and modern front‑end frameworks
* Hands‑on experience with API development and authentication workflows
* Familiarity with containerization, CI/CD, and cloud deployment practices
* Excellent communication skills and a passion for software craftsmanship
* Self‑motivated, ownership mindset, and a willingness to continuously learn
* Bonus: leadership instincts and the potential to help shape and grow the dev team
Working location and schedule
You can work from home, our Sheffield office, or our Barnsley studio. We do ask that you’re within easy travel distance of Barnsley and Sheffield, as we’ll have monthly in‑person meet‑ups and on‑site days when required for client workshops or team sessions.
