Lead Clinician

Location: Ryecroft School – Walsall, West Midlands WS2 7BH
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 dependent on experience
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent

The Role

We are looking for a Lead Clinician to manage our in‑house Clinical Team at Ryecroft School. The postholder will work collaboratively with both the school’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Regional Clinical Lead. The role combines clinically leading the team and holding a therapy caseload, delivering bespoke assessment and intervention plans for students with complex profiles of need stemming from autism, neurodivergence, developmental trauma and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Meeting the needs of EHCP plans will be a primary focus.


Key Responsibilities

* Clinically lead the onsite clinical team.
* Deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for students.
* Provide supervision and support to the therapy team.
* Coordinate line management of clinical team members.
* Lead on the service development of the clinical school‑based service in partnership with SLT and Regional Clinical Lead.
* Maintain a person‑centred, empowering approach and a strong safeguarding culture.


Essential Criteria

* Registered Practitioner with the HCPC or other approved governing body.
* Valid and up to date professional registration and membership of a professional body (e.g., BPS).
* Experience working with autistic individuals and/or those with complex needs.
* Clear and concise report writing relating to clinical and research activities.
* Experience providing supervision and supporting a therapy team.
* Ability to work independently and dynamically within a growing clinical service.
* Experience of multi‑professional work with teams or services within the designated specialty preferred.
* Full UK valid driving licence and access to own vehicle.
