We’re looking for experienced Children & Youth Support Workers in the Accrington area to support young people on a 3:1 or 5:1 basis. These roles are centred around working with children and adolescents with high levels of need, particularly those displaying challenging behaviours and requiring intensive, structured care.
The role includes:
* Providing 1:1 and team-based care for children with complex emotional and behavioural needs
* Managing high-pressure and crisis situations with confidence
* Creating a safe, supportive, and consistent environment
* Supporting children in their day-to-day routines, including schoolwork, activities, meals, and personal care
* Working closely with a wider care team and external professionals
* Keeping accurate records and following safeguarding procedures
Requirements:
* Previous experience supporting children with challenging behaviour
* Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills
* Confident communicator with fluent English
* Strong resilience, patience, and emotional intelligence
* Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins if required
