Offer description

Full time – 40 Hours – Rotas will include a mixture of the following shifts

* Day shift – 8am until 8pm
* Night shift – 8pm until 8am
* Sleep ins – 8am until 8am next day (8am – 10:30pm on shift, 10:30pm – 7am Sleep) – sleeps paid £70

Locations may vary due to the accommodation being provided by the local authority, but the closest home will be selected for you.

Key Responsibilities –

* Provide high-quality care to children and young people
* Support children and young people with challenging behaviours, using trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
* Respond effectively in crisis situations, providing calm, consistent support
* Ensure all safeguarding procedures are followed
* Promote positive routines, structure, and stability to help young people develop life skills, independence, and confidence.
* Work collaboratively with care teams, contributing to care plans
* Encourage and support access to education, health services, and community activities, advocating for the young person's best interests.
* Maintain clear and accurate records
* Build trusting and professional relationships with young people
* Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours
* Ensure the home or placement setting is safe, clean, and welcoming

You must –

* Be aged 21 or over
* Have experience working with children and young people with challenging behaviours
* Have a genuine passionate for providing quality care
* Excellent communication and relationship building skills
* A commitment to safeguarding, professionalism, and delivering care that puts the young person first
* Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or are willing to work towards this

Pay: £14.00-£14.50 per hour
