We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a growing tech company, taking ownership of key infrastructure projects and contributing to a strong, collaborative DevOps culture. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on meaningful greenfield initiatives while developing your technical and leadership skills.
A significant part of this role involves rebuilding parts of the infrastructure and migrating from Bitbucket to GitHub. You’ll play a pivotal role in advocating for scalable, repeatable, and secure platform engineering practices, working closely with development, QA, and SRE teams. You’ll get to blend hands-on technical work with opportunities to mentor and guide others, gaining experience in production operations, incident response, Infrastructure as Code, and modern DevOps best practices.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Lead greenfield infrastructure projects, including Bitbucket to GitHub migration.
* Standardise and optimise CI/CD workflows, bringing automation where it adds value.
* Collaborate across development, QA, and SRE teams to build secure, cost-effective, repeatable systems.
* Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise across the team.
* Document infrastructure, platform tooling, and CI/CD processes.
* Help ensure lower environments align with production standards.
Skills & Experience We’re Looking For:
* 3–4 years’ experience in DevOps or platform engineering.
* Strong hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway).
* Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
* Familiarity with CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
* Understanding of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
* Solid grasp of networking, IAM, and platform security.
* Experience with databases (MySQL, DynamoDB, Snowflake).
* Comfortable scripting in Bash, Python, or Go.
* Collaborative mindset, strong communication, and interest in mentoring and knowledge sharing.
This is a hands-on role with real influence, ideal for someone ready to take ownership of infrastructure projects, work in a collaborative DevOps culture, and grow their leadership capabilities.
Salary: Up to £55k (depending on experience)
