What You’ll Be Doing As an Assistant Principal - Engineering & TTE, you will: Provide clear strategic direction, performance management and professional development for all Faculty staff. Lead change programmes with high engagement, transparent communication and timely delivery. Promote a safe, inclusive and values-driven culture with a strong focus on student experience and staff wellbeing. Ensure high-quality TLA through robust quality cycles, developmental observation, instructional coaching and targeted CPD. Lead Line Reports in annual and in-year curriculum planning and review; align to employer demand, LSIP priorities and progression pathways. Guarantee full implementation of 16–19 Study Programmes (including e.g. English, maths and meaningful industry placements). Achieve strong progression to employment, apprenticeships or further/higher education; monitor destinations and act on insights. Ensure robust support for learners (including ALS/SEND) and targeted interventions to raise attendance, retention and achievement. Own the Faculty budget; deliver income, contribution and efficiency targets, with accurate forecasting and variance control. Monitor recruitment and quality metrics/KPIs deploying proactive curriculum and pastoral strategies. Recruit, induct, appraise and develop staff, address underperformance swiftly and fairly through supportive performance management. Build future capacity (including ECTs/trainees, specialist technicians and assessors) aligned to curriculum growth areas. What We’re Looking For We seek candidates who: Degree or relevant Level 6 or above qualification in a related field, or substantial industry/professional equivalence. - Essential Qualified teacher status (e.g., PGCE/Cert Ed or equivalent) with substantial and successful teaching experience. - Essential GCSE/Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics. - Essential Evidence of recent and relevant Professional Development. - Essential Management/Leadership qualification. - Desirable Assessor/Verifier qualifications; relevant professional memberships/certifications. - Desirable Experience Successful leadership of curriculum teams in FE or skills settings, with demonstrable quality improvement and strong outcomes. - Essential Proven track record of curriculum planning and delivery to financial and quality targets. - Essential Leading and motivating teams through change; managing performance and underperformance. - Essential Building strategic employer partnerships and delivering apprenticeships/work-based learning. - Essential Ensuring compliance with quality assurance processes and awarding organisation requirement. - Essential Financial management and budget ownership in a complex, multi-disciplinary faculty - Desirable Experience of Higher Technical/HE provision and large-scale external projects - Desirable What’s in it for you?
