The job itself
Lady in her mid 40s requires Personal Assistant to support her with everyday activities and social outings. Lady has Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Fibromyalgia causing a lot of pain.
Requires a walking stick inside the home and a wheelchair outside of the home whereby she will need support with. Also requires oxygen while walking sometimes but she is able to deal with this herself. Lady does have an older sleepy cat. She enjoys reading and would really like to visit a bookstore.
The role will involve making up the weekly meds into pill boxes according to chart provided.
Bringing lady to medical appointments (usually once a week) also bringing her to the shops in order she is out and about regularly. Some meal preparation is required when other carers not present and light cleaning eg putting away laundry or vacuuming.
You will need to have your own vehicle that can accommodate a folding wheelchair either in the boot or behind front seats.
A genuine occupational requirement for a female worker exists for this post under the Equality Act 2010 due to privacy and decency, someone who is caring and flexible to the hours. Ideal candidate must be someone that can give reassurance to someone who can get very anxious.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post - Cost to be met by the local authority.
