Full-Time Housekeeper (Live-Out)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Wednesday to Sunday, 08:00am - 16:00pm (approx.)
Salary: £30000 - £32000 per annum (DOE)
Location: Private residence in the Newbury area (exact location withheld for privacy)
We are seeking a professional, discreet, and highly reliable Housekeeper to join a small, dedicated household team at a private family residence. This is a full-time, live-out position suited to someone who takes pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation. This would suit housekeepers who have had experience within the boutique / luxury market of the hospitality sector.
The family is in residence approximately 70% of the time, and the role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to household care.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Housekeeping:
Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of all rooms, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and communal areas. Tasks include dusting, vacuuming, mopping, polishing surfaces, and changing bed linens.
Laundry Support:
While a full-time housekeeper manages laundry, occasional assistance may be required. This includes washing, ironing, folding, and caring for delicate fabrics and high-value garments.
Meal Support:
Assist the Chef and Butlers with post-meal clean-up, including washing dishes, clearing tables, and maintaining kitchen hygiene. No cooking is required.
Household Presentation:
Ensure the home is always guest-ready, with attention to detail in presentation, floral arrangements, and seasonal touches.
Ad-Hoc Duties:
Support the household team with errands, inventory checks, and occasional assistance during events or family gatherings.
Essential Requirements:
Experience:
Proven background in private domestic cleaning or housekeeping, ideally within high-end or formal households.
Attention to Detail:
Confidence working with high-value items, antiques, and delicate fabrics, with a meticulous approach to care and preservation.
Driving Licence:
A valid UK driving licence is required due to the location and commuting needs.
Independence & Initiative:
Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and anticipate household needs without constant supervision.
Trustworthiness & Discretion:
A high level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism is essential. The successful candidate will be respectful of the family's privacy and routines.
