Working Pattern: Our normal working week is currently 37 hours. However, we will move to a 35-hour working week no later than March 2026. We also operate a wide variety of work patterns, successfully balancing lifestyle choices with business requirements. We’re committed to supporting staff to achieve a healthy work-life balance. This is a full-time post however we are happy to talk about flexible working.
Pension: Although not a civil service employer, we offer civil service pension arrangements with an employer contribution of 28.97% of basic annual salary

This is an excellent opportunity to join the Colleague Experience Team as a Learning and Development Adviser.
The Colleague Experience team provides specialist services to the Parliament to set the standards and approach for major change initiatives, communications and engagement, learning and development and equality, diversity & inclusion. We are a team of 10 who have a real passion for making the Parliament a great place to work and we would love to invite applications from people who share our passion.
As an L&D Adviser, reporting to the Organisational Development Manager, you will have a variety of responsibilities making every day as interesting and exciting as the previous. With planning for the 2026 election underway, you will be able to get hands on experience of supporting one of the busiest times in the Scottish Parliament.
You will have a key role in supporting learning and organisational development initiatives across the organisation, producing learning guides and e-learning and delivering in house training. You will manage our training and events calendar and use feedback and evaluation data to continuously improve the learning experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with Learning Management Systems and have a passion for L&D, with experience gained within a public sector or corporate environment. You will bring a strategic approach and experience with blended learning and digital solutions. You will have strong digital skills in MS Office, especially excel, and the technical ability to produce complex training and evaluation data. You will work inclusively with a diverse range of people and be adaptable to different needs with the end user in mind.
