What we’re looking for:
We are looking for an Electrical and/or Instrumentation Network Technician to undertake all aspects of installation, commissioning, operation, repair and maintenance work. If you have an interest in Electrical and Instrumentation work and have the qualifications we need, we want to hear from you!
You will support the First Line Manager by carrying out maintenance, repair and replacement of Electrical & Instrumentation systems on gas pressure control installations and associated equipment.
You will work as part of a team responsible for the maintenance of the Electrical & Instrumentation systems on the high-pressure gas supply network, completing records to a high standard and meeting deadlines. For those who have an interest, there is also the opportunity for design work.
We’ll trust you to:
* Carry out maintenance work on electrical and instrumentation equipment, complete installation work and maintain systems whilst keeping up to date with technical advances, industry standards and future developments.
* Prepare reports and provide technical information and guidance to WWU management and third-party customers
* Maintain accurate records of all activities to satisfy legislative requirements
* Oversee activities carried out by contractors/direct labour, where necessary
* Work with other WWU departments in achieving shared goals
This is not an exhaustive list, and
You’ll need to:
* Be qualified to electrician (ie. NVQ level 3) standard or equivalent. 18th edition. 2391 or equivalent. Preferable with Compex EX01,02,03,04 and an instrumentation background
* Hold a full UK Driving Licence
* Work various shift patterns which includes weekend and evening work, and participation in a 24/7 standby rota
* Have the energy to work in all weather conditions
* Be able to work well as part of a team and operate as a team leader
* Have working knowledge of appropriate codes of practice, engineering instructions, safety and statutory regulations
* Have experience in a technical network role supported by an understanding of gas transportation activities
