Job Overview
Retail Security Officer role to protect the Waitrose store, its people, and assets by providing security and excellent customer service through Mitie and Waitrose key values.
£15.64 per hour with numerous Mitie benefits including Save As You Earn, Share Incentive Plan, Cycle to Work, Life Assurance, and childcare vouchers. Full and extensive training will be provided, including MAYBO and a focus on customer service. Company‑funded SIA licence renewal. Fully supported by the National Operations Centre (NOC) and provided with technology such as body‑worn cameras and incident reporting devices. Deliver results that meet or exceed Mitie and Waitrose expectations using all provided technology and following ASCONE guidance.

Main Duties
* Ensure compliance with all policies, legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law and guidance bodies.
* Engage fully with the National Operations Centre (NOC), Mitie management, and utilize all technology, including body cameras and mobile devices, to report incidents.
* Complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within publication Assignment Instructions (AI’s).
* Review Assignment Instructions regularly, suggest amendments to improve service levels, and maintain familiarity with any changes.
* Worn a frontline licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) at all times while carrying out duties; complete any required additional courses.
* Work systematically, methodologically, and orderly.
Training
* Complete all required competency training satisfactorily.
* Undertake continuous self‑development training directed by the Security Account Manager.
* Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through continuous professional development.
* Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety
* Immediately report any health and safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
* Remain alert to threats or changes within the work environment and take appropriate action to minimise disruption, loss or damage.
* Use common sense and initiative; involve others if a situation appears threatening.
* Maintain professional conduct during challenging situations and with difficult customers.
* Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries after any incident to support the Incident Report process.
* Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
* Ensure check calls are performed at allocated times as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions.
* Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
