Role Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Paediatric Oncology Team for a Senior Paediatric Oncology Specialist Nurse, working 15 hours per week.
The post holder will be an expert practitioner in Paediatric Oncology, providing professional leadership and operational management for the Paediatric Oncology Nursing Team. As the Lead Specialist Nurse and Team Leader for the inpatient service, they will exercise advanced clinical decision-making, sound professional judgement, and extensive expertise across all aspects of oncology care and service planning. They will hold overall responsibility for delivering high-quality, specialist nursing care, advice and support to children, young people and their families across inpatient, outpatient and community settings, ensuring continuity throughout the care pathway. Using their clinical expertise, leadership, education and management skills, they will organise an efficient, proactive nursing service that consistently delivers the highest standards of care.

The post holder will acknowledge and provide overall responsibility for the provision of specialist nursing care, advice and support to patients and families, in-patient and out-patients (including home, school and wider community visits), throughout their care pathway.
The post holder will utilise skills of clinical expertise, leadership, education and management to ensure a seamless service for paediatric Oncology patients and their families.
The post holder will work as the Lead Specialist Nurse and Team Leader of the inpatient Paediatric Oncology service and be responsible for organising an efficient and proactive Oncology Nursing Service, the aim of which is to provide the highest standard of care to children and young people, their families and carers.
Working Pattern: 2 days a week (Mon-Fri)
