An established and growing specialist structural steel contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to take ownership of high-value steelwork packages on major construction projects. This is a remote-based position, offering flexibility, autonomy, and senior-level responsibility, with regular travel to London sites as part of project delivery. You'll play a key role in protecting commercial position, managing risk, and supporting successful project outcomes across a live portfolio of work. Key Responsibilities: Full commercial management of structural steel contracts from award through to final account Support Project Directors and Project Managers with contractual and commercial strategy Preparation and management of: CVRs, WIP, cost/value reconciliations Applications for payment and final accounts Variations, change control, and contractual notices Subcontract procurement, valuations, and account management Commercial input during tender handover and throughout project lifecycle Build and maintain strong working relationships with client and main contractor QS teams Attend site meetings and undertake site visits to London-based projects Promote high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance Requirements: Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction Experience working on structural steel or specialist subcontract packages Strong commercial and contractual awareness with confident negotiation skills Ability to manage multiple live projects and work to tight deadlines Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, Project or similar) Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site Experience working under NEC forms of contract Understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes Why Apply?
