About the Department & Team:
The role will be responsible for global product ownership of GRS business objectives within the Underwriting Domain for Agile Products. This spans core capabilities such as Risk Assessment, Coverage, Rating, and Pricing technology, working closely with UW, Actuarial, and Data teams to manage global and local engagement, data flow, and integration with linked capabilities like Submission, Quote, Book/Bind, and Policy Administration.
You will articulate and translate the underwriting business vision into a global digital strategy aligned with ‘One GRS’, segment, and regional strategies. You will prioritize within available financial and resource capacities and make tactical decisions within your portfolio.
You will oversee agile product teams, ensuring they are well-resourced, focused on key priorities, and aligned with comprehensive roadmaps to meet portfolio objectives for stakeholders and the overall business strategy.
Manage a team of Product Managers, overseeing their respective agile teams and stakeholder alignment to remove roadblocks and secure resources.
Accountable for outcomes and key results (OKRs) tied to strategic objectives.
Ensure stakeholder satisfaction and progress against objectives using agile methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Set and oversee the digital portfolio strategy, translating it into strategic roadmaps for Underwriting Agile Products.
2. Responsible for business results of customer journeys or agile products, measured by relevant OKRs.
3. Understand the businesses within GRS, their go-to-market strategies, opportunities for scale, and local market differences.
4. Communicate the portfolio vision effectively to stakeholders and team members.
5. Collaborate with IT and Business Units to align resources with the portfolio vision and roadmaps.
6. Partner with Design and Data Teams to prioritize customer-driven design and data model robustness, ensuring usability and preventing user pain points.
7. Align development and business resources on goals, working with stakeholders to remove execution roadblocks.
8. Manage a team of Product Managers responsible for all Agile Products.
9. Support sprint and release planning, providing feedback and coaching.
10. Manage scope delivery, align with leadership and sponsors on strategic outcomes, performance, and resource allocation.
11. Ensure clarity of Epics and Features, resolving issues efficiently.
12. Maintain quality and consistency of product and portfolio roadmaps, backlog health, and reuse opportunities.
13. Make final priority decisions for global risk products, within the investment appetite set by COOs.
Skills and Experience:
* Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with decision-making authority in interfacing with business teams.
* Advanced knowledge of Agile methodologies, typically acquired through a relevant degree or significant experience as a Product Owner.
* Experience in business, engineering, technology, or consulting.
* Proven business expertise to set priorities and understand value impacts within the Underwriting Domain.
* Technical proficiency to participate in sprint planning and contribute informed insights.
* Experience with Agile practices and expectations.
* Comfortable making decisions under uncertainty.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
