English Teacher (QTS) Maternity Cover Andover
Prospero Teaching is seeking a committed and enthusiastic English Teacher (QTS) to join a supportive and well-established secondary school in Andover on a full-time maternity cover basis starting after April 2026.

The Role:
Teach English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4
Deliver lessons following established curriculum and planning frameworks
Take on full teaching responsibilities including planning, marking, and assessment
Support pupils of varying abilities and contribute to raising attainment
Attend department meetings and collaborate on resources and assessments
Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
The School Is Looking For:
A fully qualified English Teacher with QTS/QTLS
Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
Experience delivering GCSE English (any exam board)
A proactive, reliable, and organised classroom practitioner
Someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, supportive team
A teacher seeking a maternity role starting after April
Contract Details:
Position: English Teacher Maternity Cover
Location: Andover
Start: After April 2026
Salary: £32,916-£51,047 per annum
Contract Type: Full-time Maternity Cover
Key Stages: KS3-KS4
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
QTS/QTLS essential
Experience teaching English at secondary level
Safeguarding training required (can be provided)
Eligibility:
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS (update service) or willingness to apply
Two recent teaching references
