Product ranges span multilevel loop, loop pile, structure bonded ®, fibre bonded, cut pile and carpets in sheet and tiles, as well as performance barrier system and entrance matting products.
Our eco friendly portfolio focuses on the design and creation of innovative products to meet the needs of architects, specifiers and contractors with a continuously expanding range of carpets to suit the education, leisure, commercial and public sectors.
As our business is investing in major transformation, we are now looking at transitioning our Health and Safety Manager role in-house. This is a part time role 24hrs, based 4 or 5 days a week at our head office and manufacturing site in Ossett (WF5)
The role will involve applying health and safety best practice in a practical way by collaborating with factory production teams to drive improvement within the business.
Salary £40,000-£45,000 per annum (Pro Rata for 24 hours, £25,500 - £29,000)
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and maintain health and safety policy and procedures ensuring they are continually reviewed and updated.
· Use a clear, structured and documented approach to drive improvement for the safety and well being of all company colleagues.
· Ensure compliance to health and safety regulations by all employees of the business; providing the necessary training and ongoing meetings to assist the employees.
· Build a good working relationship with all the different manufacturing teams.
· Support the process of undertaking risk assessments, inspections and accident investigations.
· Identify potential hazards and determine ways of reducing risks.
· Ensure safety improvements are developed from idea to implementation
· Develop business cases and proposals to fund safety improvement projects.
· Investigate any health and safety issues raised by management or employees.
· Record and investigate incidents, accidents and complaints, and cases of ill health if work related.
· Produce reports, of health and safety statistics and trends, for the company board members.
· Keep up to date the safe operational practices ensuring adherence to any changes in legislation.
· Ensure all First Aider and Fire Marshall responsibilities are carried out as per agreed policy and procedures.
· Attend training courses as required to enable you to develop your skills and knowledge through continuous professional development.
· Work with Maintenance to ensure equipment is installed safely and maintained to the necessary standard.
Skills Criteria
· NEBOSH - qualified
· Knowledge of current Health & Safety Legislation.
· Previous experience within manufacturing environments.
· Excellent organisational and time management skills.
· Good IT skills and experience in Microsoft Office / 365, including word, excel, outlook, powerpoint, teams, etc.
· Ability to communicate confidently with people at all levels.
· Articulate in written and oral English communication.
