A secondary school in Solihull is seeking a proactive and skilled Design Technology Technician on an interim basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to support creative learning and help students bring their ideas to life in a safe, well-equipped workshop environment. The role will be Monday - Friday, 8am - Tomence in December.
Your new role
This school is currently looking for a full-time DT technician to start in December. Your time in this role will include:
1. General preparation of materials and assisting with lessons.
2. Maintaining an inventory and management of materials.
3. Support teaching and learning in the classroom.
4. Carry out daily tasks as directed by teachers.
5. Ensure all tools and equipment are stored securely.
What you'll need to succeed
6. Experience working with machinery and tools
7. Experience working within a school environment
is essential.
8. Respect for safeguarding and confidentiality,
9. A strong ability tomunicate well and work as part of a team
10. The ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
11. Workshop qualified (Secondary Core Level Health & Safety) with at least DATA (Design and Technology Association) certificationfor Workshop machines.
We will need to be able to obtain references to cover the last 2 years as a minimum, and you will need to be willing to undergo a DBS check if you don't already have a DBS on the updated service.
