Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the U.S. government, allies, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Technical Reference Librarian (USAF) to support a unique US Navy program based on the island of Diego Garcia. Job Responsibilities Manage, organize, and maintain technical manuals, reference materials, digital resources, and classified/unclassified documentation in support of USAF operations. Provide research assistance and reference support to maintenance, engineering, and operational personnel. Maintain accurate cataloging, indexing, and inventory systems in accordance with Air Force and Amentum standards. Ensure all technical documents are current, properly stored, and compliant with revision control and distribution requirements. Assist with digitization, scanning, and electronic filing of technical materials. Track, issue, and control technical publications and controlled documents. Coordinate with USAF departments to obtain updated manuals, technical orders (TOs), bulletins, and directives. Maintain a clean, organized, and secure technical library environment. Minimum Requirements 1–3 years of experience in library services, technical documentation, records management, or administrative support. High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in library science, information management, or records administration preferred. Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally. Passport must be valid for at least one year beyond hire date. Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience supporting USAF or DoD technical documentation systems. Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce. Familiarity with Technical Orders (TOs), controlled documents, or military publication systems. Strong organizational, cataloging, document‑control, time management and customer service skills. Valid country driver’s license. Ability to obtain country‑specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
