Position Summary
EDAO (European Digital Appliances Office) offers leadership, guidance, expertise and support of the Business and Product Marketing strategies for Samsung Electronics Home Appliances across Europe. We take full responsibility for the total business performance of Samsung across 17 subsidiaries within Europe.
Home Appliances is one of the fastest growing businesses within Samsung Electronics and EDAO helps define and drive Global Strategy into local execution. Additionally, it leads the broader product, sales, retail and marketing community to deliver excellence in execution. A small dynamic team with a genuine passion for innovation and a desire to propel Samsung to a true number one position in the category across Europe.
Role and Responsibilities
Commercial Management
1. Own commercial strategy and performance management for Home Appliance business in Europe
2. Be the go-to-person for the head of team on commercial performance assessment, business improvement ideation and activation
3. Lead subsidiary or category P&L deep dives, identifying revenue and cost issues and driving business improvement initiatives
4. Assess commercial implications (opportunities, risk) of strategic decision made on product, marketing, investments at HQ and subsidiary level.
Cross Category Initiatives
5. Lead cross category initiatives on annual sales planning, business opportunity, risk assessments and others. Define project scope, allocate work streams, own delivery
6. Structure analysis and work management among the team members to help answer key business issues and priorities raised by management.
Key Account Management
7. Represent Samsung DA to mid-Senior Management of European Key Accounts. Build strong business partnership and alignment on strategic goals
8. Develop tools to monitor and forecast meaningful metrics by Key Account, establish a deep understanding of business performance and find opportunities for growth
9. Set up regular business reviews with the key accounts. Prepare meaningful material to share insights, and propose and drive joint actions for mutual business growth
10. Liaise with local commercial leaders in markets to stay informed of key account performance and issues. Champion new initiatives with the subsidiaries that help deliver on commercial objectives of international agreement
11. Ensure ongoing focus and momentum behind the objectives of international agreement across Europe.
New Channel Development
12. Monitor trends and developments European retail landscape, and its impact on our business
13. Assess assortment and pricing strategies being planned and deployed by the biggest retail partners, and its implications on Samsung commercial strategy (pricing, promotions, incentives)
14. Identify new channel development initiatives across markets, evangelise and scale up validated business models across other market.
Market Sensing
15. Track market, competitor, channel developments, and share with wider organisation your assessment on short and long term implications to the business
16. Evaluate competitor’s performance, pricing and channel strategies make recommendations to ensure Samsung continues to maintain a high-reaching position
17. Develop relationships with agencies like GFK, and key team members in markets set up mechanisms and tools to build a pipeline of market insights.
Executive Reporting
18. Provide mentorship to members of the team and develop content for executive presentations, customer meetings, subsidiary workshops, subsidiary specific performance reviews
19. Deliver presentations to the senior partners on commercial performance and strategy in the company
20. Improve the transparency, consistency, and flow of appropriate commercial information across the business to support timely decision making and anticipation of issues that can be avoided.

21. Provide clarity on strategy, team purpose & value and define the key areas of focus and direction.
22. Support the development of your team through regular mentoring, coaching and feedback, 1:1s and on the job learning opportunities.
23. Role model inclusion for your team to build trust and psychological safety.
24. Ensure communication with your team is a core focus area including cascade of information from LT’s and relevant business updates.
25. Manage the on boarding, off boarding process and the entirety of the colleague lifecycle process for all team members.
26. Manage all annual people management cycles such as goal setting, evaluation and salary reviews to a high quality and in a timely manner.
27. To be accountable for ensuring your team are compliant with company processes and procedures; such as compliance, meeting mandatory business cyclical deadlines, and understanding the company values.

32. Outstanding analytical and data management skills. Not just providing information but translating that into valuable insights. Ability to balance multiple data sources and consolidate and simplify into efficient analysis
33. Proven excel, PowerPoint and word skills to compile valued reporting;
34. Preferably fluent Korean both for an official reporting and usual communication and experience and insights on the Home appliances industry or similar consumer electronics business an advantage

35. Independently delivering insights and recommendations on commercial performance and opportunities for the business
36. Becoming familiar with internal tools, reports, dashboards and working with the team to improve reporting and insights
37. Developing relationships with the country teams to guide them on strategic direction but also formulating market and competitive insights
38. Additionally, providing commercial leadership and insights to impact subsidiary sales strategy
39. Ability to present and discuss business with mid and senior partners in the organisation
40. Success will be measured based on overall commercial performance of the business.
