Butler Ross are pleased to be recruiting for a Purchasing Manager to join an SME manufacturing organisation based in Harlow, Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to blend strategic elements of procurement, with a hands-on purchasing position, and management of a small, but dedicated purchasing team.
Candidates will need to have previous experience within purchasing or procurement specifically within a manufacturing environment, have some form of prior management / mentoring / leadership experience, and be happy on-site 5-days a week. The salary on offer for this position is up to the £55,000 mark, with
Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Lead and develop the team to ensure efficient sourcing and purchasing operations
2. Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to optimise cost, quality, and delivery performance
3. Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, including pricing, terms, and service level agreements
4. Analyse market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
5. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align procurement activities with organisational goals
6. Monitor and report on procurement metrics, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement
Ideal Experience:
7. Previous purchasing or procurement experience, within a manufacturing environment
8. Prior leadership / management experience
9. Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
10. Experience with using ERP/MRP software - ideally SAP
11. Strong Microsoft suite experience
