Experienced Teaching Assistant – Full-Time | Specialist SEMH Provision | September Start | £90–£95 per day
We are seeking a committed, compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in [Location] this September, supporting young learners who face significant challenges in mainstream education. This is a full-time, term-time only position offering a competitive daily rate of £90–£95, depending on experience. The role is ideally suited to someone with a strong background in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Responsibilities
* Supporting students on a one-to-one and small group basis, both in and out of the classroom.
* Helping pupils to build confidence and self-esteem through structured routines and consistent guidance.
* Supporting with behaviour regulation strategies and de-escalation techniques.
* Encouraging academic and personal progress in line with individual education plans.
* Promoting a safe, respectful and nurturing learning environment.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working with children and young people with SEMH, behavioural challenges or in alternative provision.
* Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs, autism, ADHD or similar challenges.
* Resilient, patient, and able to build strong relationships based on trust and respect.
* Sound safeguarding and child protection understanding.
* Excellent communication skills and a calm, confident approach.
