Purpose of the Role
To deliver high-quality technical support and network engineering services for Social Telecoms customers. The role combines hands-on WiFi network design, installation, and maintenance with technical support responsibilities, ensuring reliable service delivery, smooth project execution, and proactive improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
* Act as second-line technical support for broadband, telephony, WiFi networks, and smart tech services.
* Diagnose and resolve escalated issues from the first-line team.
* Liaise directly with customers to progress and resolve technical faults.
* Identify recurring technical issues and propose preventative solutions.
* Maintain accurate records of service calls, installations, and inventory.
* Maintain positive relationships with key customer contacts.
Network Engineering & Installations
* Plan, build, and maintain WiFi networks in residential and communal environments.
* Configure and deploy hardware such as routers, switches, access points, and controllers.
* Carry out site surveys and performance testing to ensure optimal coverage and service.
* Support engineers on-site with installations, upgrades, and complex technical tasks.
* Document network setups, configurations, and changes for future reference.
* Working away will be required when needed.
Skills & Experience
* Full UK driving licence.
* Strong working knowledge of broadband, WiFi networking, and VoIP.
* Hands-on experience with network hardware configuration and fault diagnosis.
* Familiarity with common tools for WiFi design, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
* Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences.
* Organised, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Preferred (Not Essential)
* Experience in WiFi network design, surveying, and optimisation.
* Experience with smart home technology and a strong interest in the tech sector.

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
