ANZUK Education are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a new all-through specialist school in Leatherhead for children aged 2-19. The school provides a supportive and inclusive environment for children with a range of complex needs, and you'll play a vital role in supporting students both academically and emotionally.
Location: Leatherhead, Surrey
Pay: £102.60-£119.70 per day, Umbrella (PAYE options available)
Availability: Monday - Friday, Monday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Friday
Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs in year 8 and 9, including but not limited to: autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and physical disabilities
Assist with planning and delivering lessons and activities that are accessible and engaging for students with special educational needs
Help to develop and implement individual health and care plans (EHCPs) and behaviour plans in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other support staff
Monitor and record student progress and communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and other support staff
Provide personal care and support as needed, including toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance when needed
Provide emotional and behavioural support, helping students develop positive coping mechanisms
Ensure a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience working with children with SEND is highly desirable, ideally in a school setting
Some knowledge of different types of special educational needs and strategies for supporting students with those needs
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and to take direction from teachers and other senior staff
Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to changing needs and priorities
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
A caring and patient attitude with children and young people
A genuine passion for working with students with Special Educational Needs and helping them achieve their full potential How to apply:
