Job Summary The Senior IT Operations and Infrastructure Manager is responsible for developing and implementing Minster Law’s Operational Technology strategy to support the business’s short and long-term business plan. The scope of the role includes all Infrastructure, hardware, hosting strategy, telephony, risk, incident management and service delivery to the entire business. This role is accountable for delivering service operations in these areas by ensuring high service standards are achieved, and the digital work programme is delivered to business objectives, needs and requirements. In addition, it will include strong collaboration with both the Head of Digital Product Delivery and Director of Strategic Delivery who together the Senior IT Operations and Infrastructure Manager, form the senior team responsible for delivering a technology product and service environment which propels the business forward. On of the key aspects of this role is to own the business’s Cyber Security strategy. Engaging with industry experts to ensure the strategy remains best in class and that systems and processes are maintained and kept up to date, as the cyber security environment evolves. This is a key role in the business and as such forms part of the Senior Leadership community of the business reporting to the CFO. Core Responsibilities The management and leadership of the digital operations service, providing digital services which include IT infrastructure, hardware, networks, telecommunications, service desk, MI and IT security to Minster Law. Develop and implement the long-term IT operating model in conjunction with all key stakeholders, ensuring it remains fit for current and future purposes, with all required upgrades executed effectively. Design and deliver an IT infrastructure that is stable, available, meets business expectations, future demand and growth and is cost efficient to enable the business to succeed in its objectives including core network architecture, MI and telephony. · Own the business cyber security strategy and continue to evolve our technology to provide best in class protection against cyber threats. · Deliver a high-quality IT service that meets the needs of the business. Define and implement governance, security policies, and technologies to safeguard the business operations (and secure IT assets) from cyber-attacks and data breaches. Adopting, where appropriate, best of breed technologies to eliminate user and system breaches. Lead on digital incident management, problem management, change management and supplier management processes across the digital service. Lead on the Business Continuity Process to ensure availability of services at all times. IT supplier and contract management to ensure Minster receives the expected levels of service from third party providers and maximise efficiency across all IT spend. In collaboration with both the Head of Digital Product Delivery and Director of Strategic Delivery, lead on deployments and infrastructure changes to “environments” in a controlled, automated and auditable manner and align to Dev Ops processes and best practices to reduce overall business risk. · Be an advocate of driving success through people management, process excellence, quality & risk management by leading and coaching the teams. · Lead in the development of organisation wide skills and capability to maximise the use of our technology to improve ways of working. · Work closely with both the Head of Digital Product Delivery and Director of Strategic Delivery to create a Digital ‘centre of excellence’ which promotes collaboration, sharing of skills and development and mobility of talent. · Perform all senior leadership responsibilities as part of the Senior Leadership team. Undertake any other tasks as deemed relevant and reasonable by the business. Key Performance Indicators Your KPIs and Objectives will be discussed and agreed upon with you on a one-to-one basis. In addition, you will have regular one-to-one meetings with your line manager to review your performance against these objectives and identify any areas for development and required support. Person Specification Essential · Experience in leadership and management of a digital and IT service. · Significant experience and knowledge in o managing IT systems teams and service desk operations o collaboration with product development programmes to ensure new technology products are delivered effectively. o Case Management / CRM and associated hosting/management requirements. · Technical infrastructure knowledge and expertise in virtualisation, M365, Entra ID, Azure, Networking and Microsoft Stack. · Extensive knowledge of security frameworks, ISO27000, Cyber Essentials Plus, PCI-DSS, etc., and experience of implementing IT policies, processes and measures, including technical products. · Proven operational experience within an Agile PM, Prince2 and MSP environment. · Strong technical awareness in order to respond to IT audits, due diligence questionnaires, key control certifications, etc. · Experience in implementing IT service delivery frameworks with an understanding of service management frameworks, e.g., ITIL. · Strong supplier and digital partner management experience. Including technical, contractual delivery and performance management. · Building key stakeholder relationships across Minster and influencing digital approaches and adoption across the business operation. · Strong understanding of security strategy, products and the increasing cyber threat landscape. · Experience in managing in-house and remote teams with the ability to create energy and drive. · Building organisational capability to capitalise on technology tools that the business provides. · Robust and tenacious. An ability to clearly and calmly deal with changing circumstances and challenging situations to maintain Minster’s overall goals, whilst still achieving objectives. Desirable · Qualified in appropriate professional qualifications (Agile, Prince 2, MSP, Cyber security, CISSP, CISM) · Strong interpersonal skills to be able to analyse situations against the bigger picture. · Knowledge of Proclaim, Power BI and the Power Platform would be advantageous. · Experience of deploying AI, automation and process improvement initiatives. · Demonstrable experience of protecting the business from the emerging threats of AI. · Meticulous attention to detail. · Team Player. Salary Information The annual salary range for this role £65,000 - £75,000.
