Job Overview
Rochester Independent College is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Drama Teacher to join our Performing Arts department, delivering lessons across all key stages from Year 7 to Year 13. Essential to this role is proven experience in teaching and assessing the BTEC qualification. While not mandatory, experience preparing students for LAMDA or Trinity examinations is highly desirable, as is the ability to teach English up to A-Level. Beyond classroom teaching, the post holder will play an integral role in supporting the department's extra-curricular activities, including the running of whole-school productions. We are happy to consider applications from candidates seeking either a full-time or part-time position.
Responsibilities
* Teach Drama across key stages 7–13, with a focus on delivering BTEC assessment.
* Support and contribute to department-wide extra-curricular activities and whole-school productions.
* Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement a high-quality Performing Arts program.
* Provide timely feedback and contribute to student progress and attainment in drama.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience in teaching and assessing BTEC qualifications in Drama.
* Experience preparing students for LAMDA or Trinity examinations is desirable but not mandatory.
* Ability to teach English up to A-Level is advantageous.

Rochester Independent College was founded as a sixth form college in 1984 and offers a fresh alternative to traditional independent education. Classes are small, with an average of 8 students per group. The College offers a full secondary education from Year 7 to the sixth form and specializes in intensive one-year A level and GCSE courses. The College also has a track record of excellent results on retake A Level and GCSE courses for students aiming at competitive university courses.
