Clinical Pharmacist – GP Practice (South Coast) Location: Bognor Regis Salary: BAND 8A - Up to £60,000 Hours: Full-time / Part-time options available About the Role We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Clinical Pharmacist to join a friendly, forward-thinking GP practice on the beautiful South Coast. You’ll work closely with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimise patient medicines, provide structured medication reviews, and support safe, evidence-based prescribing. Key Responsibilities Clinical Care Conduct structured medication reviews, particularly for patients with long-term conditions or polypharmacy. Support safe and effective prescribing, including monitoring high-risk medicines and managing repeat prescriptions. Provide patient consultations (face-to-face, telephone, or video). Promote deprescribing and reduce medication-related harm where appropriate. Independent Prescribing (if qualified) Prescribe within your competence. Manage minor conditions or chronic disease reviews under agreed protocols. Medicines Optimisation & Practice Support Lead audits, QOF, IIF, and local prescribing incentive schemes. Collaborate with community pharmacies, care homes, and NHS teams. Advise on cost-effective prescribing in line with local guidance. Education & Development Provide training or updates for practice staff. Mentor pharmacy technicians, if appropriate. Keep up to date with clinical guidance and professional development opportunities. Essential GPhC-registered pharmacist Strong clinical knowledge and patient-focused communication Experience in primary care, hospital, or community pharmacy Commitment to CPD and evidence-based practice Completion of the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway Desirable Independent Prescribing qualification Experience with SystmOne and e-prescribing tools Familiarity with QOF, IIF, or other NHS frameworks Start Date: ASAP
