Education/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. •First Level registration nursing qualification
2. • Recognised Chemotherapy/SACT course
3. •Evidence of continuing professional development
4. •IV drug administration certificate
5. •BSc Nursing or related subject or working towards.
Desirable criteria
6. •Relevant post-registration qualification in cancer
7. •Advanced Communication Skills Training
8. •Assessors /Mentorship qualification /Teaching Qualification
9. • Completed UKONS SACT Competency Passport
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
10. •2 years Oncology / Haematology experience
11. •Chemotherapy administration and in-depth knowledge of chemotherapy regimens and haematology / oncological conditions
12. •Experience of advising on the management of treatment related toxicities and of using CTCAE to assess patients
Desirable criteria
13. •Experience in outpatient chemotherapy setting
14. •Previous experience at Band 6
Skills, Abilities and Attributes
Essential criteria
15. •Cannulation and phlebotomy skills
16. •Competent in the care and management of Central Venous Access Devices (CVAD's)
17. •Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
18. •Flexible attitude to working
19. • Excellent communication skills, written, verbal, non verbal and with the multidisciplinary team
