Role responsibilities
As well as undertaking the required procurement to enable Transport for Wales to meet its business requirements and deliver key infrastructure projects, The Procurement Manager will work with other functions across the company to ensure compliance with internal and external procurement policy, process and relevant legislation.
1. Provide advice and expertise across the company and to relevant stakeholders on appropriate procurement strategies by conducting and advising on market analysis, potential and compliant routes to market and supplier engagement requirement, ensuring that all procurement is in line with the Sustainable Procurement and Supply Chain Policy, process, procedure and legislation.
2. Lead and deliver procurement events by advising stakeholders of options, developing strategies, drafting relevant documentation, coordinating tender and evaluations, and based on this, making informed recommendations to assist TfW in achieving business requirements and project outcomes.
3. Support project delivery and where called upon leading programmes of work for TfW teams with desired outcomes, including establishing frameworks, ensuring TfW can achieve its business requirements and project outcomes.
4. Support the shaping, implementation and management of the procurement process and procedures by working closely with the Head of Procurement and the team to ensure the organisation is procuring effectively and achieving demonstrable value for money.
Who we’re looking for
5. A relevant professional qualification such as relevant degree, MCIPS or MRICS or proven relevant experience.
6. Good knowledge and experience working under Public and Utilities Contract Regulations and Non-regulated Procurement.
7. Experience of the bus transport sector.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
