A dynamic, award-winning Building & Architecture Consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Technologist to enhance their Birmingham office.
The Senior Architectural Technologist role
The successful Senior Architectural Technologist will join a dynamic and friendly team of professionals, working across a broad range of sectors on exciting projects such as Healthcare, Education and Residential.
The incoming Senior Architectural Technologist will be proficient in Revit, working in a hybrid capacity with the ability to work from home 2 days a week to promote a good work / life balance and will manage two Assistants.
This could be the perfect opportunity for an Architectural Technologist who feels they've hit a ceiling in their current role and have the desire to take a step up, manage juniors, and make a real impact. Duties also include:
Lead user meetings.
Support and mentor junior staff, including Apprentices and Part I / Part II Student.
Take receipt of a brief and develop it into a design without intervention.
Achieve efficient and effective construction detailing using robust and sustainable design solutions.
Prepare compliant designs by following UK Construction Law, British Standards and relevant CoPs.
Choose or advise on material selection. Respect the limited availability of natural resources when making design decisions. Consider design life and durability.
Author bespoke specifications in NBS Chorus. Evidence supporting technical data in project folders.
Assist the Project Team with designing to a budget. On instruction, assist with value-engineering.
Participate in project reviews and coordination workshops.
Assist in gathering and preparing information required to support statutory submissions, such as Planning, Building Regulations and Building Safety Gateways.
Negotiate with statutory bodies, write reports and complete statutory submissions (planning Applications / Gateway Submissions / Building Regulations etc).The Senior Architectural Technologist
CIAT or RIBA registered
Previous experience in a similar role
Demonstrable experience in leading the delivery of production packages.
Proficient in Revit
Good knowledge of UK Construction and Building Law.

£35,000 - £45,000
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Hybrid Working - 2 days per week
