Thrive is a dynamic, front-door service providing early emotional wellbeing support to children, young people and families across Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale (HMR). We're part of a whole-system approach that puts access, prevention, and community connection at the heart of what we do. We are looking for an enthusiastic Child and Young Person's Wellbeing Practitioner (CYWP) to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified practitioner who is confident delivering brief, low-intensity, evidence-based interventions and thrives in creative, flexible, and community-driven environments. Main duties of the job Deliver evidence-based guided self-help for children and young people with mild to moderate emotional and mental health difficulties. Support young people and families through 1:1 sessions, group work, and drop-in conversations Co-deliver workshops and psychoeducation in various settings including Thrive and community settings Work collaboratively with professionals across education, health, social care, and voluntary services. Promote mental health literacy and empower young people to build resilience and self-management skills Be part of a compassionate, skilled multi-disciplinary team focused on accessible, trauma-informed care. Experience Essential Experience of working as a psychological wellbeing practitioner / graduate mental health worker in a primary care setting Experience of routine outcome monitoring Experience of working in the local community Experience of multi-agency working Knowledge Essential Knowledge of child psychology and development Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care Demonstrate an understanding of parenting and behaviour management interventions Knowledge of child protection issues, safeguarding and other relevant legislation Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding school and education and the impact it can have on mental health Skills Essential Ability to meet agreed / specified service targets Ability to manage own caseload and time Excellent IT skills Has received training (either formal or through experience) and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice Ability to use supervision to guide case management Ability to build good rapport with children, young people and parents / carers Person Specification Qualifications Essential Successful completion of the NHSE (or equivalent) commissioned Children's Wellbeing Practitioner course.
