To continue with our growth plans for 2025 and beyond, we are seeking an Advanced Solutions/Standardised Solutions Lead to join our central Proposals team within the Pre-Construction department, based in the Central team overseeing Water Frameworks.
Reporting to the Business Development Director/Advanced Solutions Director and part of the Pre-Construction Leadership Team, you will lead the development of standardized, sustainable, innovative solutions supported by robust commercial data, supply chain technologies, and effective delivery strategies. Your focus will be on complex, first-of-a-kind, and major projects, shaping MWHT’s approach to potable water treatment, sewage treatment, and bioresources projects through these solutions.
The solutions will be based on current best practices from regional frameworks, governed by ORC standards, and will serve as benchmarks for future innovations. They will incorporate standard designs and components developed in collaboration with Engineering, considering delivery methods, interface management, Modern Methods of Construction, Off-Site Construction (DfMA), digital modeling, sustainability, and cost optimization, ensuring they are safe, operable, and maintainable.
You will interact regularly with regional and divisional Pre-Construction leads, supply chain, engineering, procurement, and business excellence teams to ensure alignment, efficiency, and the effective integration of solutions into tender processes. Your role involves acting as a technical leader within Pre-Construction, managing client relationships, leading technical development of proposals, and supporting departmental administration and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Client Management: Building positive relationships, managing expectations, delivering solutions through Early Contractor Involvement, and integrating lessons learned.
2. Developing Solutions for Tenders: Leading technical input, resource management, ensuring solutions meet affordability, sustainability, and operational criteria, and coordinating multidisciplinary engagement.
3. Department Development: Planning resources, managing budgets, driving innovation, and improving team performance.
Essential qualifications and experience include:
* Degree in Engineering or equivalent, or Project Management qualifications.
* Experience with NEC4 contracts and UK Water Industry projects, especially in water treatment or bioresources.
* Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project programming, risk management.
Desirable attributes include professional memberships, leadership qualifications, experience managing large projects (>£10M), and a full UK driving license.
