About the role:
PwC is an independent member of the PwC international network of firms. Based in London and Manchester, we have 29 partners/directors and employ over 350 legal fee-earners. As well as project-based, specialist legal advice, we offer our clients ongoing general counsel support. We have access to legal expertise in over 85 countries.
The Corporate practice is one of PwC Legal's largest practice groups. The Corporate team focuses on corporate and business structuring projects ranging from significant multi-territory reorganisation projects to smaller intra-group reorganisations, as well as M&A and private equity work. The team also has specialisms in advising on LLPs and LLP conversions and European company law (cross-border / domestic mergers.
Our clients include numerous household name MNCs and listed groups as well privately owned companies and inbound groups. Our structuring practice focuses on clients ranging from MNCs and listed groups, for whom the work is very much cross-border in nature and often done with other legal teams in the PwC international network, to smaller privately owned companies and our M&A practice tends to focus on privately owned companies, inbound groups and mid-tier PE houses. Our teams often work with tax, corporate finance, deals, advisory and other professionals from within PwC LLP to deliver a joined up service to our clients.
What your days will look like:
1. Dynamic and Varied Work: The successful candidate will handle a wide range of corporate matters, working closely with PwC teams across London, regional offices, and globally, ensuring exposure to diverse projects rather than repetitive deals.
2. Technical Expertise and Transactional Knowledge: A high level of technical competence and understanding of corporate transactional mechanics is essential, along with strong organisational skills to manage significant responsibilities on transactions.
3. Client and Internal Relationship Building: Candidates are encouraged to develop strong relationships with clients and PwC professionals, actively networking and collaborating across teams to support business growth.
4. Autonomy with Supervision: You will run certain matters under the guidance of Corporate partners while working closely with other fee earners, requiring enthusiasm, adaptability, and the ability to take ownership of tasks.
This role is for you if:
5. Qualified solicitor in England & Wales or equivalent common law jurisdiction.
6. Excellent academic background.
7. A solid general corporate law background.
8. Experience of intra-group corporate and business structuring work.
9. An interest in working in a variety of corporate areas.
10. Strong client service skills.
11. NQ to 3 years PQE.
12. Primarily a team player but also able to work under own initiative.
