As the Inventory Manager, you will lead strategic initiatives to improve visibility, control, and optimisation of inventory across SGT Manufacturing, Build, and Test Operations. You will play a pivotal role in developing a forward-looking inventory forecast model, driving accountability across multiple functions, and delivering measurable improvement in working capital and operational efficiency. This role involves presenting monthly performance updates to senior leadership and leading a multi-functional inventory optimisation team — influencing outcomes without direct line management.
How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Develop and implement a robust inventory forecast model tailored to turbine manufacturing cycles.
2. Monitor and control inventory flow across all stages – raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and test assets.
3. Ensure real-time visibility and accuracy of inventory data across systems and departments.
4. Lead a cross-functional Inventory Optimisation initiative with multiple workstreams, defining objectives, KPIs, and ownership.
5. Collaborate with the MRPC and Scheduling teams to achieve inventory performance targets.
6. Establish and maintain stocking policies and safety stock levels aligned with demand variability and lead times.
7. Review and manage slow-moving WIP and excess inventory, ensuring timely disposition or reallocation.
8. Own and govern the Excess Inventory Authorisation process to ensure compliance and accountability.
9. Drive ownership of inventory accuracy across Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
10. Present monthly performance updates, trends, and improvement actions to senior leadership.
11. Partner with Finance to align inventory strategy with cost and capital objectives.
12. Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste and improve turnover.
13. Leverage analytics and digital tools to enhance forecasting accuracy and decision-making.
14. Benchmark industry best practices to continuously improve Siemens Energy’s inventory management capability.
What You Bring
15. Proven experience managing inventory within a complex manufacturing or engineering environment.
16. Strong analytical skills and experience building or managing inventory forecasting models.
17. Confident communicator, capable of presenting clearly and credibly to senior leadership.
18. Ability to influence and coordinate cross-functional teams without direct line management.
19. Knowledge of MRP, ERP, and data analytics tools for inventory control and reporting.
20. Strategic mindset with the ability to balance operational priorities and financial objectives.
21. A proactive, organised, and detail-driven approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
22. Degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering (preferred).
