Job Overview

This job opportunity at Frimley Park Hospital’s Day Surgery Unit is for a Ward Clerk/Receptionist to support the administrative needs of a busy department. The role is part-time (30 hours per week) and requires someone who is dynamic and professional to assist with reception duties and clerical tasks.

Main duties of the job

* General clerical and administrative duties
* Managing and dealing with all telephone enquiries, new patients and visitors
* Point of contact for all visitors to the unit
* To maintain patient details on relevant electronic systems updating with necessary requirements such as porting requests
* To manage and update the admission and discharge information system contemporaneously
* Liaise with ward staff to resolve any problems
* Liaise with other departments for example; Waiting list department, consultants secretaries, pharmacy, emergency department, transport, discharge lounge, site managers, porters etc
* To provide administrative support to the nursing and medical staff as required
* Make appointments as necessary
* Ensure general tidiness of DSU Reception areas
* To maintain a safe working environment
* Assisting with audits as required, including data collection
* Reporting of any estates issues via Planet FM and following up these requests
