We have a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated End UserSpecialist (Digital Systems - Deployment) who has the enthusiasm and ability to work in a challenging but equally rewarding Technology Services Department as part of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

You will work within the End User Services Team, this sits within ICT Operations as part of the wider Technology Services function. End User Services provides a range of services to the Trust. These include deployment, maintenance and enhancement of end user device operating systems and applications, management of cloud hosted solutions.

The End User Specialist is a technical role that sits within End User Services. It has delegated responsibility for key tasks enabling operational continuity and future development of Trust user device estate within the End User Digital Systems Deployment specialism.

As part of a wider Technology Services function, an End User Specialist is expected to work collaboratively with other teams. These include, but are not limited to, Digital Systems, Infrastructure, Information Security and Compliance, Clinical Applications, Software Development, Solutions Architecture and Service Management.


Main duties of the job

To assist the End User Services Manager in maintaining operating system images, software packaging and deployment management in accordance with Trust, industry, and national standards with reference to ITIL service management processes.

With guidance from the End User Services Manager, lead on the management and configuration of Trust deployment tools such as Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Intune

Coordinate and complete upgrade and maintenance activities including patch, upgrade, hot fix deployment in line with agreed schedules and processes

Assist with resolution of Service Desk calls and underlying problem diagnosis as appropriate in line with agreed SLAs or OLAs

The Technology Services department provides out of hours support and the Senior End User Specialist (Digital Systems) must be willing to participate in out of hours roster if requested

Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Role Purpose:

· To assist the End User Services Manager in maintaining operating system images, software packaging and deployment management in accordance with Trust, industry, and national standards with reference to ITIL service management processes.

· This role is critical in ensuring the efficiency and security of our IT infrastructure, supporting healthcare professionals in delivering outstanding patient care.

Key Accountabilities:

· Act as a primary technical authority within the support team. Providing in person and remote support to Trust staff. You will be required to liaise with staff directly as part of the troubleshooting process.

· Provide proactive specialist advice, development, and management of systems within their area of specialism.

· Lead on the management and configuration of Trust deployment tools such as Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Intune.

· Work with appropriate teams to ensure appropriate back up and retention of applications and related data.

· Coordinate and complete upgrade and maintenance activities including patch, upgrade, hot fix deployment in line with agreed schedules and processes.

· Design, development and deployment of proactive performance and integrity monitoring for the supported services.

· Assist with resolution of Service Desk calls and underlying problem diagnosis as appropriate in line with agreed SLAs or OLAs.

· Raise, implement, and review technical change requests in line with the Trust ICT Change Management Policy

· Work with Solutions Architects and Senior End User Specialists to review and develop solutions and technical designs.

· Work with Project Managers and Programme Managers on projects as directed by the End User Services Manager.

· Lead on non-project work packages to deploy minor works and agreed solutions.

· To undertake any other duties that would be a reasonable expectation of the role or directed by the End User Services Manager and delegated individuals.

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

Physical Requirements

Qualifications - Academic / Craft / Professional

* Must have either; substantial experience in a 2nd line technical support role working with relevant technologies; or some experience working in a 2nd line technical support role with relevant technologies as well as a level 6 qualification (Bachelor’s degree equivalent).


Training

* Knowledge of ITIL
* Relevant technical certification (eg. MCSA) or technical degree level qualification
* ITIL v3 or above Foundation Certificate


Experience

* Excellent experience in Systems Support or Administration with an understanding of desktop operating systems (Microsoft Windows), system administration tool sets, such as Active Directory.
* Willingness to train and support colleagues, junior IT staff and end users as necessary
* Experience in delivering high quality documentation around processes and procedures.
* Considerable evidence of building and maintaining images to be used in imaging of both mobile and computer-based devices.
* Evidenced experience of managing, configuring and deploying via deployment tools such as MS InTune and MS Configuration Manager (SCCM).
* Substantial Extensive experience 3rd line engineer role working with experience of deployment tools and techniques
* Experience of running estate wide software or operating system upgrade programmes


Knowledge

* Maintain awareness of technology trends and best practice with in the technology sector with attention to how that may be applied to health care setting.
* Awareness of IT Security principles and techniques such as penetration testing.
* An understanding of the principles IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and On Premise solutions.
* Knowledge of monitoring tools such as LANSweeper and MS Sentinel, and functions within deployment applications such as InTune and Configuration manager (SCCM).
* An understanding of monitoring and alerting tools such as Lansweeper and Microsoft Sentinel.
* Awareness of cloud technologies, specifically around Microsoft Azure and Office 365.
* Some Knowledge of management and configuration of MS Teams and MS Teams Telephony platform
* Knowledge of modern provisioning methods, such as Microsoft Autopilot


Skills

* Ability to work on multiple workstream simultaneously and to agreed timescales.
* Ability to work without supervision for prolonged periods of time, implementing planned work to agreed timescales.
* Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
* Exceptional stake holder engagement skills and strong customer focus.

* Must be willing to participate in out of hours roster if requested.
