We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join us as Band 6 Occupational Therapists across Hampshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT).
This is a 9-monthly rotational post, with a diverse range of clinical areas to work within.
Rotations and locations
* Front door (Emergency Department & Acute Assessment Unit) RHCH & BNHH
* Medicine RHCH & BNHH
* Coronary Care, Oncology & Gynaecology BNHH
* Surgery RHCH & BNHH
* Long Term Conditions and Elderly Care RHCH & BNHH
* Inpatient rehabilitation Kingfisher ward, AWMH
* NEW Therapy Supported Discharge outreach team RHCH
Sites include Winchester (RHCH), Basingstoke (BNHH) and Andover (AWMH). You will rotate across sites according to service needs and personal preference, with a base site as Basingstoke or Winchester and rotation across sites as per the role.

The successful candidate will have a broad range of relevant clinical experience and be able to demonstrate a real passion for the inpatient acute hospital setting, acute rehabilitation, and complex discharge planning from a therapy perspective.
Role and responsibilities
* Work as part of the acute therapy team within a multidisciplinary team (Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Practitioners, Therapy Assistants).
* Promote patient independence with a focus on early acute inpatient rehabilitation, assessing patients’ needs, providing ongoing acute therapy interventions and discharge planning.
* Inform discharge planning through therapy assessments, aligned with patients’ holistic needs.
* Lead on service improvement projects and supervise therapy colleagues; provide clinical support and guidance to Band 5 OT, physiotherapists, Band 4 therapy practitioners, Band 3 therapy assistants and therapy students.
Working with HHFT
* Robust peer support from fellow Band 6s and regular formal supervision and clinical supervision by a Band 7 therapist.
* Opportunity to contribute to service development and supervision of colleagues.
* Flexible working requests will be considered; part-time/flexible arrangements available.
Qualifications and requirements
* Eligible to practice as an Occupational Therapist (Band 6 level).
* Manual driving licence or access to own car with business insurance (a therapy car is available for community visits to facilitate hospital discharge).
* A commitment to working 50% of the bank holidays and weekends as part of the OT weekend rota is essential.
Additional information
* We reserve the right to close the job early if a high number of applications are received.
* Informal visits to meet the therapy team are welcome.
* Base working site will be one of Basingstoke or Winchester with cross-site rotation available.
