Executive Officer (Public Protection Casework)
Company: Brook Street in partnership with the Home Office.
Location: Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow / Hybrid (60% office, 40% WFH) – fully office based for the first 2 weeks of training.
Pay: £15.53 per hour.
Assignment length: Until March 2027.
Working days/hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week – 9–5 pm for training; after training flexi 10–3 pm.
Responsibilities
* Manage high-risk public protection casework as directed by the Public Protection Officers, ensuring actions align with policies and SOPs.
* Assess and prioritise allocated cases based on business needs and risk level.
* Attend team meetings and wider Public Protection & Safeguarding meetings when required.
* Arrange and participate in case conferences and strategy meetings, providing advice and recording agreed actions.
* Keep the casework tracker/case management system up to date with all actions and decisions.
* Provide timely and accurate information to management, especially when swift responses are needed.
* Liaise with internal teams and external partners (e.g., Social Services, NHS, Police) to gather case information and ensure timely responses.
* Maintain communication with stakeholders to support joint‑working outcomes, identifying and escalating opportunities to improve processes.
* Line‑manage AO Admin Support Officers (where applicable) and lead the team to embed public protection principles across operational teams, providing public protection & safeguarding advice and guidance to staff.
Skills & Qualifications
* Knowledge of using IT systems.
* Proven experience in an administrative or secretarial role.
* Good knowledge of data management and record keeping.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Training & Clearance
Training: No annual leave during the first 2 weeks training period – induction for approximately 2–3 days and training for approximately 4–5 days, followed by on‑job training.
Clearance level: CTC – to be applied for by Brook Street upon a successful application.
Role specific requirements
Must hold a valid passport and have lived in the UK for longer than 3 years. Periods of 6 months or longer spent outside the UK in the last 3 years will not be accepted.
This role requires security clearance that will be processed for you if successful.
