JJ Food Service is launching a brand-new branch in Nottingham, and we’re looking for a bold, strategic, and relationship‑driven Business Development Manager to help us get off to a strong start. As one of the UK’s most respected foodservice wholesalers, JJ is trusted by thousands of restaurants, cafés, retailers, and caterers nationwide — and now you have the chance to become the face of our brand in an exciting new territory.

This role is 100% field‑based and requires regular travel across Nottingham and the surrounding areas.
Salary: up to £40,000 per annum + OTE Bonus
To be successful you must have:
1. Prior experience in new business development in the Food Service Sector or a national accounts position, with successful achievements across multiple sectors and experience managing tenders
2. Ability to work confidently and effectively on your own initiative
3. Strong selling and negotiation skills
4. Commercial insight and understanding of key profit levers
5. Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
6. A strong understanding of JJ Food Service Ltd and the wider hospitality and restaurant sector
7. Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
8. Ability to work towards tight deadlines
9. Commitment to keeping up to date with industry trends, regulations, and legislation
Responsibilities of the role:
10. Ensure commercial new business is secured through active prospecting and effective pipeline management
11. Understand the local market and how JJ’s products and services support customers across the region
12. Grow and maintain customer relationships in line with targeted commercial growth
13. Use successful techniques for securing contracts, including communicating JJ’s unique selling points, understanding operating margins, and meeting client requirements
