We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled clinician who will contribute to delivering outstanding, patient-centred care across our Obstetrics and Gynaecology services, while playing a key role in supporting and developing our cancer pathways, including rapid access services and multidisciplinary working to achieve Trust cancer targets.
Applicants must hold:
1. Full GMC registration.
2. CCT (or equivalent) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with eligibility for entry to the Specialist Register within 6 months of AAC.
3. MRCOG (or equivalent)

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
4. Provide high-quality clinical care across general Obstetrics and Gynaecology services.
5. Deliver and support the Trust’s gynaecological cancer pathway, including independently running rapid access clinics and working closely with the MDT to meet cancer targets.
6. Undertake independent operating in gynaecology, with experience in major abdominal surgery (with support available initially if required).
7. Attend and contribute to MDT meetings, supporting the care of more complex patients within agreed network pathways.
8. Participate in specialist gynaecology clinics where appropriate, with additional skills welcomed including: Colposcopy Outpatient hysteroscopy
9. Participate in the Labour Ward rota with on-call covering both Obstetrics and Gynaecology:
1 in 8 weekend rotation 1 in 16 weekday rotation Band A on-call supplement
10. Contribute to teaching, supervision and mentorship of junior doctors, midwives and nurses.
11. Engage in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and service development, supporting the future direction of the department.
12. Participate in and support research activity, in line with Whittington Health’s research strategy

Professional Qualifications
Essential criteria
13. Full GMC registration
14. Relevant CCT or equivalent [equivalence must be confirmed by PMETB/GMC by date of GMC].
15. Entry on the GMC specialist register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of AAC.
16. MRCOG or appropriate specialist qualification
17. Equivalent experience and training to the Advance Labour ward Practice ATSM/ SITM
18. ATSM/SITM in one of the Gynecology surgical advanced modules or equivalent involving major abdominal surgery and have experience with the UK cancer pathway
Desirable criteria
19. ATSM/SITM in Hysteroscopy And/or Colposcopy accreditation
Clinical Experience & Skills
Essential criteria
20. Clinical Training and experience in general Obstetrics and Gynaecology equivalent to that required of a UK CCST
21. Excellent clinical skills and experience
22. Excellent practical skills in the full range of Obstetrics & Gynaecology
23. Comprehensive skills in independently running rapid access clinics and working in a multidisciplinary team to deliver the Trusts cancer targets.
Business Development
Essential criteria
24. Leadership skills to take forward service developments and quality improvement.

25. Evidence of active participation in quality improvement, service redesign or business development.
Audit, Management and IT

26. Understanding the principles of clinical governance and its implications.
