We are seeking an Early Years Play Worker to join the Early Years Outreach Service. The team comprises 3 Play Workers and 3 Child Development Officers, led by the Educational Psychology Service. The role involves providing a part-time social communication satellite service at Arthurlie Family Centre, along with outreach support to other Early Language and Childcare Centres (ELCC), helping staff meet the needs of children with language and social communication difficulties.
The Play Worker will assist the Child Development Officers by preparing materials and resources, supporting children during small group activities and play, liaising with other adults and ELCC staff, and occasionally conducting home visits. Applicants must have, or be willing to undertake, a minimum qualification of SVQ Level 2 (or NC equivalent) in childcare and education, or an equivalent recognized by SSSC. Experience in a nursery environment with children aged 0-5 years is desirable, as is an interest or experience working with young children with additional support needs.
This is a 52-week post. There is no option for term-time only work.
