You will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and administrative dutiesand the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties caninclude but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, patientregistration, booking appointments, processing of information (electronic andhard copy) and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point ofcontact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiriesfor the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members andexternal agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
Main duties of the job
Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the receptionist/administrator. Theremay be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will bedependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
Maintainingand monitoring the practice appointment system
Processpersonal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
Answerincoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requestappropriately
Signpostpatients to the correct service
Processincoming and outgoing mail
Initiatingcontact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members andexternal agencies
Processreferrals to external agencies such as secondary care using the electronicreferral system
Readcode data on System One
Fileand store records as required
Dataentry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information asrequired
Inputdata into the patients healthcare records as necessary
Scanningof patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patientshealthcare records
Manageall queries (including administrative queries) as necessary in an efficientmanner
Maintaina clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
Monitorand maintain the reception area and notice board
Support all clinicalstaff with general tasks as requested

Crich Medical Practice is a rural practice based near Matlock. We have two branch sites which each have their own Dispensary. We are part of Amber Valley Health which is a group of seven practices working together to provide extra healthcare for the benefit of the local community.
Our team consists of 4 partners, 2 salaried GPs & a team of nurses and support staff. We are also a training practice and have registrars working within the practice.

* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
* Experiance of working with the general public
