Overview
Position Summary: Responsible for leading process engineering and production support for a product or product line. Provides technical leadership for continuous improvement efforts focused on process optimization. Leads the design, documentation, and implementation of assembly methods, test methods, and equipment operation, including specification and optimization.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
* Resolve production process issues using problem-solving techniques to analyze, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
* Act as Product Champion for a specific product or line, leading operations focal points, process engineering, and production support activities.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process and product manufacturability.
* Provide technical leadership and hands-on support, including specification and implementation of assembly equipment.
* Establish Manufacturing Quality Plans, including process flow, layout, and equipment specifications.
* Develop process procedures, change orders, validation plans, and reports.
* Research technology, equipment, and tooling to improve quality, yield, or cost.
* Generate proposals for purchase and implementation with cost analysis and ROI.
* Design test equipment, fixtures, and tools; perform validation activities.
* Assist in introducing new products into manufacturing, collaborating with R&D and suppliers.
* Supervise personnel as assigned; lead or participate in Lean Six Sigma projects.
Skills & Capabilities:
* Extensive knowledge of engineering principles applied to broad areas of assignments.
* Ability to oversee major projects, make sound judgments, and meet objectives.
Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge & Experience:
* B.S. in Engineering with 15+ years of experience or M.S. with 10+ years of experience.
* Experience supporting manufacturing of instrumentation or disposables preferred.
* Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
