Band 3 Healthcare Assistant

Do you have excellent communication and organisational skills? Are you a team worker with the ability to use your own initiative? If the answer is yes, then we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join our encouraging and welcoming team of dedicated military and civilian healthcare professionals and administrative staff working in Stanford Hall, Stanford-on-soar, Loughborough, LE12 5QW.

This position offers 37.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

To support clinical staff in the care of ServicePersonnel (SP) receiving Rehabilitation. The role will include but is notlimited to support of Activities of Daily Living, monitoring, observations,venepuncture, IPC and equipment care. Additional skills and training can beacquired in role that will expand the Health Care Assistants (HCA's) scope ofpractice under supervision.

Job responsibilities

Main details of the role include but are not limited to:

* Assist with patienthygiene, elimination and mobility, physical comfort, eating and drinking-whilst observing and reporting specific changes.
* Perform and reportclinical observations of a patients respiratory rate, oxygen saturations,heart rate, blood pressure (BP), temperature.
* Following training andgaining of appropriate competencies, perform venepuncture.
* Supporting patients inbecoming as independent as possible following injury as part of theirrehabilitation journey.
* Be trained in performbasic life support, and work alongside practitioners in the emergencymanagement of patients.

The Ministry of Defence requires all candidates who are successful at interview to declare any outside interests. Selection Process Details

The sift will be completed within 10 working days of the vacancy closing date. Interviews will be held on a date to be confirmed.

There will be no reimbursement for any travel expenses for the interview.

Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is security check.
