TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR MEDICAL ADMINISTRATION OFFICER (MAO) PURPOSES Primary Purpose To be the Secretary to the Royal Navy Medical Board of Survey (RNMBOS) so that documentation submitted to RNMBOS is to the standard laid down in BR1991 and that advice is provided to the President of RNMBOS, referring MOs and Consultants. To read all case notes relating to upcoming Medical Boards for the purposes of quality assurance, case familiarisation and advice to President RNMBOS / Primary and Occupational care. Secondary Purpose To provide a medical administrative centre of excellence for Single-Service needs so that the requirements of Medical Facilities dealing with RN personnel, veterans, co-providers, and veteran related organisations are met, within the limitations of cost and practicality. SUPERIORS The MAO is: Accountable to the President RNMBOS and CO INM. AUTHORITY The MAO is authorised to: Represent CO INM and President RNMBOS on any medical administration matter. Liaise and correspond with Service and civilian authorities to achieve their purpose. Attend meetings on behalf of MES HoD as MAO MES. Sign on behalf of the MES HoD as MAO MES. Given functional authority over: All personnel attending RNMBOS for procedural matters. All RNMBOS staff. All NSVMDC staff. Liaise and advise on policy and processes with: The Naval Resettlement Information Officer Secretary of: RNMBOS. PRINCIPAL TASKS Providing an organisation capable of providing medical administrative procedures for single-service purposes. Provide an effective RNMBOS. Representing those RNMBOS attendees recommended for retention and referred for assessment by the Royal Navy Medical Employability Board (RNMEB) Facilitating the provision of a medical resettlement service for Naval personnel brought before RNMBOS. Supervising the career development needs of all the staff of the Division and to ensure that appropriate training is made available and to provide appropriate support. Setting Divisional objectives and to set attainable standards. To act as the MES Medical Records Manager maintaining the security of medical records within the RNMBOS as detailed in BR 1991 Ch 20. SECONDARY TASK To act as the MES Health Care Governance Lead To act as Risk and Issues Manager To act as MES Policy Manager To act as DMICP Systems Administrator To act as MES Complaints Manager To manage and where appropriate facilitate and maintain the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) Carrying out establishment duties, audits and musters as directed by INM Standing Orders and Temporary Memorandums.
